Hi there, Home Pressure Cooking friends. Rhonda here for my 2nd recipe as a guest contributor to Home Pressure Cooking. Today I am sharing a Pizza Pie Lasagna in the Ninja Foodi.
Last night I decided to make a pizza pie lasagna with the inspiration of the Debbiedoo’s Big Mac attack.
I used my new 7-inch Spring form Pan HERE
You can find all the recipes Debbie has made using the 7-inch Spring form pan
This 6 layered pizza pie lasagna in the Ninja Foodi is so many things- it’s a pizza, lasagna, and quesadilla all wrapped into one. What I call a Pizzalasilla!
I used tortillas and layered them with sauce and cheese and a different topping for each of the layers.
Every single layer included sauce and cheese plus a topping, except 2 of the layers were just sauce and cheese. I encourage you to make this recipe your own and use the toppings you love the most to try for your layers…
You will notice in the picture that I used a variety of cheeses, well that was because it was what I had and I was trying to mix it up. I also alternated the cheeses per layer.
I have 2 tips for you in this recipe.
One – freeze your shredded cheese. I always freeze my shredded cheeses so I have them readily available and it lasts so much longer in the freezer. I try to take them out so they defrost a bit so I can get the cheese to break apart for whatever I am making at the time. Otherwise, if that does not happen and I am in a hurry I am smashing the bag trying to break it up, and well last night I actually used a tack hammer to do so, LOL.
I learned this cheese freezing trick from my mother as she always did this when I was growing up. Her tip is to flatten the bag so the cheese is spread in a thinner layer within the bag (and not in a big clump in the bottom of bag) and squeeze all the air out and you won’t need a tack hammer-like her impatient in a hurry daughter did. My 2nd tip is as you can see in my picture I like to add spices and Parmesan cheese to the store-bought pizza sauce. I add spices like oregano, basil, garlic, onion and Parmesan.
