How to Make a Box Cake in the Instant Pot

For this recipe, all you need is one box of Duncan Hines Lemon supreme, a small can of crushed pineapple, and maraschino cherries (optional).

Instant Pot cake

As pretty as the cake looks as delicious as it tastes. The combination of lemon and pineapple was very refreshing. You can always make it your own creative way with any flavor cake mix and fruit toppings you prefer.

At this I point have made so many cakes in the Instant Pot, I couldn’t even tell you what is a favorite of mine. Of course, our favorite pan to use is the two in one Spring/form pan HERE

When this Lemon supreme cake was done cooking in the Instant Pot, as soon as I removed it, I poked the bottom of the cake with a straw, then drizzled pineapple juice inside the holes. I let the cake cool for at least 15 minutes before flipping it.

And there you have a refreshing, moist, and delicious cake from the Instant Pot. No need to heat our ovens this summer, or all year round when baking. Try a cake today!

How to bake a Cake in the Instant Pot or Ninja Foodi

Lemon Supreme Cake

Course Dessert
Cuisine American

Equipment

  • Pressure Cooker
  • Ninja Foodi
  • Instant Pot

Ingredients

  • 1 15.25 Box of Lemon Supreme Duncan Hines cake mix
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 15 oz can crushed pineapple
  • 1 cup water

Instructions

  • Mix the box cake according to directions. I always hand mix my cakes using my Spurtles.
Prepare a 7 ' Springform/Bundt pan with a light coating of non-stick butter spray and line the bottom of the pan with a little foil just in case of slight leakage.
Pour entire cake mix in the pan. Set pan on a trivet. Add one cup of water to the pot. Set on High Pressure Manual for 35 minutes. Quick release and remove cake carefully.
  • While cake is still warm poke holes using a straw on the bottom of the cake. Pour pineapple juice on top. Let set for 15 minutes.
Flip cake over onto plate. Add remaining crushed pineapple to the center hole if using Bundt portion. If not, feel free to add cool whip on top and remaining crushed pineapple.
